Executive Director
The State Racing Commission (SRC) is a board under the jurisdiction
of the Division of Professional Licensure in the Commonwealth
of Massachusetts. The Commission is charged with supervising
all conduct relating to the business of racing. The Commission
regulates one Thoroughbred track, Suffolk Downs; one Harness
track, Plainridge Racecourse; and simulcast racing at two former
Greyhound tracks. The racing industry is estimated to provide
both direct and indirect employment for more than 5,000 people
in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
The State Racing Commission is currently accepting applications
for the Executive Director position. The Executive Director
shall be responsible for the day-to-day operations and general
administration of the Commission. On behalf of the Commission,
the Executive Director shall implement agency operational and
regulatory policy to protect the public, all race horses, and
the licensees at the racetracks and to ensure the legitimate
performance and integrity of pari-mutuel racing.
